brighton | sosallydesign

two weeks today i will have graduated from my design course. it's a pretty terrifying prospect right now, but explains why things have been so quiet around here! over 200 unread posts in my bloglovin' haaa! however, it's also really exciting, and i cannot wait to get back to normality, catch up with all my friends and have loads of summer fun! so i'm currently just trying to stay motivated and get as much work as i possibly can done every single spare moment, but it's definitely not easy, especially in this heatwave. can't wait to be all done though and share my final portfolio with you guys! in other news, i finally got my vsco grid the other day, yeay! i have been a huge fan of vscocam for ages, pretty much all my instagrams are edited with it. but i love the style and design of the grid - so clean and simple and loads of white space, yes! you can check it out here, and i've put a link in my sidebar too. let me know if you have a vsco grid and i'll check it out!

two ninety-five | sosallydesign

apparently the flowers are super amazing this year because spring started so late. eh? but anyway, they are, aren't they?! and if you follow me on instagram you're probably already aware that i'm pretty obsessed with them at the moment. i took this snap in a cute flower shop in clifton, bristol when i was visiting for my sister's birthday. i cannot believe it's june tomorrow. JUNE?! say whaaaaat? less than two months until i graduate from design school, woah. I just wanted to pop by and apologise that my blog posts are a bit few and far between at the moment, and also that i've been rubbish at visiting your blogs! this may not change for a while i'm afraid. my social life is going out the window now as it's time to concentrate on my portfolio - can't wait to share it with you in a few weeks time!

i'll still be posting on instagram, twitter & my tumblr from time to time so you can still catch me there. oh, and thanks for the lovely comments on hello it's you, so glad you all like it!

hello it's you

hello it's you moodboard | sosallydesign

just popping by to introduce a new collaboration with my lovely friend claire - a tumblr called hello it's you, filled with photographs by us. a new colour every fortnight... i hope you like it! as any of my friends will tell you, i looove taking photos, as does claire. so this is quite a fun little project, and a very easy way to stay creative day to day. claire and i met on our first day of uni and we lived together for several years in nottingham and then london. but now she lives in sydney, which sucks, so this is a nice little way to stay in touch a bit more too. yeay!

you can check out claire's blog here, where she posts beautiful photos, cute diys and wonderful stop motion videos.

slovenia

it's taken me a while to sort through my pictures of our trip to slovenia a few weeks back, and even longer to post them. but better late than never eh? it feels like ages ago now though, so it's actually really lovely to look back through them...

ljubljana was super laid back and relaxed, and absolutely tiny! but full of beautiful old colourful houses, cobbled streets, riverside cafes and lovely old churches and cathedrals. the view from the castle was wonderful and you could see out of the city to the snow covered alps! lake bled was gorgeous too, despite being pretty cloudy when we arrived, it's still an incredibly calm and beautiful place surrounded by some seriously lovely countryside! it's such a pretty little city, and was perfect for the relaxing break we were after.

all photos by me, taken on both iphone 5 and panasonic lumix g10.

blossom | sosallydesign

we're just back in london after a lovely weekend with friends and the most super cute baby, ever. it was fun and relaxing. but things have been very busy. work, catch ups with friends, college and house hunting, argh! and my teux deux list is getting longer, and i might be a little behind on my homework. eeek. but it hasn't happened much, and i figure i can't get all of it done all of the time. come may though i think i'm really going to have to knuckle down and put my all into this course before i graduate. anyway, just wanted to check in and say hi. i'm so glad spring has finally decided to arrive! there is blossom everywhere, and that definitely makes me happy! hope you all had lovely weekends. x photo taken on my iphone in london this week.

Morning light in the living room (postcard from the seventy tree) | St Paul's Cathedral in a rare bit of sunshine | Shopping in Islington on a rainy day with my sisters | Crazy weather, spring snow | A papercut project i've been working on at college recently. Woah, my iphone5 and vscocam really has been my go to camera lately. It's about time i finally treated myself to a new lens and started using my slr a bit more!

as usual i'm off to dorset for the long weekend, it is going to be bitterly cold this year but hopefully we'll get a bit of sunshine! Hope you all have lovely Easter weekends! x

I recently discovered the lovely work of natalie Mccomas, an Australian photgrapher, through this gorgeous photo. And I really love her work. Her wedding photography is so super beautiful, and her travel shots are stunning, and quite magical too. Oh dear, it's got me craving a big trip away! It's pretty nice escapism from the snow and freezing temperatures outside. C'mooon spring! I've been keeping warm and getting on with my papercut handmade project for college this weekend, hope you've had good weekends!

lovely little details

lovely little details | le dans la

Currently really loving le dans la and other blogs which share lovely little details of their homes and lives. It's lovely, I like it. Probably because I'm nosy. I occasionally share little snapshots of my home on instagram, but very rarely. Well hardly ever actually, I mostly just take photos when I'm out an about. This is going to be a very late new years resolution. Ok. So pretty. And much more realistic and achievable than most of those places in my dream home pinterest board! these are inspiring me to have a massive clear out and to only hold onto the things I really love.

love london

love london | so sally designthe end of a lovely sunny london weekend. saturday tea and a croissants fresh from the bakery, a bus to st paul's, a stroll across the millennium bridge, and a long overdue visit to the tate modern. mooching around the galleries and choosing our favourite works of art. admiring the view across the city. a nice stroll back and home for warm food and good wine. sunny sunday and a relaxing morning, cheese bread and olives, homework and tangerines, and a walk around sunny islington. browsing gorgeous design shops, falling in love with a desk i'll never be able to afford. and then down to camden passage to mooch around the antique market, lovely crockery and prints and a beautiful vintage tulle dress. home for reece's peanut butter cups milkshakes - of course! i love london.

- photo taken on my iphone and edited with vscocam.

i was reminded by pinterest this morning of how much i love peggy wong's photography, in particular her travelogue series, i swear it just keeps getting better and better. i discovered peggy's blog on bluepoolroad a few years ago and have admired her work ever since. her travelogue posts just inspire me so much. her photography is so beautiful and inviting - it makes me want to visit, or re-visit everywhere she's been. i also love the way she marries typography with her photographs so beautifully...

that is a huge load of inspiration right there. must learn how to use my SLR a bit more this year! and hopefully do some more travelling, especially once my course finishes. yes.
